Community Organizer

The Alaska Center is seeking a​ dedicated and talented ​individual to serve as a Community Organizer in Anchorage, AK. This position ​will conduct outreach and advocate for​ ​climate justice, clean energy solutions, and salmon habitat protection throughout​ Alaska by engaging, inspiring and​ galvanizing thousands of individuals to take action and volunteer on an array of campaigns and issues. This position will also support The Alaska Center’s work to ​elect decision-makers​ who will stand up for clean air and water, promote solutions to climate change, and support a strong democracy. The ideal candidate ​will be passionate about building relationships, understand the importance of connecting with a diverse array of communities, and skilled at developing and maintaining partnerships.

Conservation Canvass Organizer

We are looking for outgoing, passionate individuals to reach out to the public and find new supporters. Conservation Canvass Organizers will work with the Field and Volunteer Director and the Canvass Director to interface with Alaskans on key conservation issues and maintain relationships with passionate action takers to sustain support. Conversations take place in person, at doors, over the phone, and at events. This position may occasionally require travel outside of Anchorage. Our goal is to identify and activate supporters on various conservation campaigns that protect the resources that sustain our cultures and way of life.

Open Positions at The Alaska Center Education Fund


Alaska Youth for Environmental Action (AYEA) is a program of the Alaska Center Education Fund that inspires and trains rural and urban youth leaders to impact environmental issues by providing leadership skills training and supporting youth-led community action projects and campaigns. We are committed to a youth-led model, in which teens choose the issues AYEA works on, and teens are the leaders in AYEA campaigns and projects. Adult mentors and staff provide essential support to help the teens learn the skills they need to successfully reach their project goals. ​The Summit Coordinator works closely with AYEA Program Coordinator to plan and implement the Civics and Conservation Summit. There is a possibility for this position to grow into continued employment at the Alaska Center Education Fund.
