This position will work to build power for salmon conservation in Alaska by educating and engaging thousands of individuals to take action and volunteer on an array of campaigns and issues. This position will also support The Alaska Center’s work to elect decision makers who will stand up for clean air and water, promote solutions to climate change, and support a strong democracy. Join our Canvass Team!
The Alaska Center is looking to hire conservation canvassers on an ongoing, as-needed basis; and for the 2017 summer season. We are looking for outgoing, passionate individuals to reach out to the public to find new supporters. Canvassers work alongside Deputy Canvass Directors and the Canvass Director to interface with Alaskans on key conservation issues, with conversations taking place in person, over the phone, and at events. Our goal is to identify and activate supporters on various conservation campaigns that protect the Alaskan way of life. Duties include: Going door to door and making phone calls, educating Alaskans on a variety of timely issues. Salary is dependent on experience, and hours will vary.
