Announcing Our Matanuska Electric Association Endorsements
Matanuska Electric Association (MEA) is a member-owned cooperative, guided by the people it serves. Through utility board elections, member-owners can help shape decisions about their energy future. The members elected to the board have a direct impact on energy costs, reliability, and investing in clean energy.
For these reasons, The Alaska Center Board of Directors is proud to unanimously endorse Connie Fredenberg and Daniel Jensen for the Matanuska Electric Association Board.
Connie Fredenberg has over twenty years of experience working with rural independent community owned electric utilities. She is a dedicated community leader, and is committed to ensuring an affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy future for MEA. Connie is running for MEA’s at-large board seat.
Daniel Jensen works at Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) managing a broad portfolio of energy investments, totaling 1,020 megawatts of generation capacity. This experience has given Daniel a deep understanding of the energy sector and first hand knowledge of the importance, and financial benefits, of integrating diverse and renewable energy resources.
Connie and Daniel bring significant energy sector experience that will help guide MEA toward a clean energy future. Together, they will help the cooperative navigate near-term reliability challenges, diversify its generation portfolio, and ensure the delivery of affordable power.
At a pivotal moment for Alaska’s energy future, Connie and Daniel bring the leadership needed to help guide MEA through the decisions ahead. We encourage members to use their voices and votes in this year’s election and look forward to continuing to work with our community and the Matanuska Electric Board to build a just and sustainable energy future for Alaska.
