Summer Camp AnchorageKids Summer Camps, Environmental Education and School Outreach Programs

Trailside Discovery Camp is a summer camp in Anchorage, with programs in Eagle River and the Mat-Su Valley that provides a broad range of outdoor environmental education experiences for students of all ages and from all economic, social, and cultural backgrounds. We also offer Winter Camps and special Outreach Programs for schools. Trailside is now in it’s 32nd year, to learn more about our history, please click here.

Every Fall, Winter, and Spring Trailside Discovery offers a range of Outreach Programs to schools throughout the Anchorage School District and beyond. Trailside courses focus on environmental and outdoor education and comply with Alaska State Standards and Common Core Curriculum. The classes offered are: Snow Shoeing, Skiing, Winter Ecology, Orienteering, Owl Study, Firequest, Team Building, Wilderness Survival, AND our brand new Fat Tire Bike Program.  Our classes and Outreach Specialist come to you!

Trailside Discovery is offering a Winter Wilderness Camp from 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m. each day at the Campbell Creek Science Center. Programs will emphasize hands-on outdoor activities and educational nature games such as Winter survival, snow-shoeing, snow shelters, orienteering, winter birds, group initiatives and much more! Trailside Discovery is an American Camping Association accredited camp and Alaska’s leading non-profit outdoor environmental education opportunity for kids. Please join us for a positive outdoor experience!
