Volunteer in our Garden

C St Garden

Calling all volunteers!

We need your help to water, weed, plant, and eat our "C" Street garden plot this summer.

Alaska Center for the Environment, Alaska Community Action on Toxics, UAF Cooperative Extension, and Alaska Women's Environmental Network joined forces with a cadre of volunteers to plant an organic herb and vegetable garden - the planting was way fun, and big thanks to everyone who participated!

Now, we encourage you to join us, learn more, and help us keep this learner's garden alive, well, and happy.  Meet your neighbors, practice new gardening techniques, and have lots of fun in the evening sun!  Also, at least 25% of our harvest will be donated to the Alaska Food Bank.

We'll meet every Wednesday night from 5:30-7pm in the garden to learn about what's happening that week, share some food, and get our hands dirty.  But even if you can't make it on Wednesdays there are opportunities to help out.

RSVP to Alli at 274-3662 or alli@akcenter if you would like to join us next Wednesday at the "C" Street garden or if you would like to volunteer!
