Sustainable Communities
Anchorage boasts an urban salmon run, an abundance of
wildlife, stunning scenery, and a world-class trail and park system.
Alaska
Center for the Environment's Sustainable Communities program focuses
on quality of life issues in and around the city. We believe that the Anchorage of tomorrow should
include affordable and accessible public transit, safe and plentiful
walking and biking routes, well-designed and attractive public and
residential dwellings, and transportation links that keep our
neighborhoods intact. Working together, we can ensure that Anchorage is a
thriving, vibrant destination - and a model Alaskan city that future
generations are proud to call home.
Of course, there are an endless number of issues that impact our quality of life, and ACE works to make sure that citizens and neighborhoods are heard on all of them.
