10 Easy Reminders to Protect Anchorage’s Waterways

1.  What's on the ground, washes down.
2.  Only clean water down storm drains.
3.  Scoop the poop.
4.  Report concerns to the Anchorage Waterways Council, www.anchoragecreeks.org,
5.  Don't put grass or clippings into waterways, it affects the dissolved oxygen that fish depend on.
6.  Keep soil from running into creeks--it clogs fish gills, kills the water insects that fish eat, and damages fertilized salmon eggs.

7.  Keep your car in good running condition so that fluids don't leak onto the street.
8.  Use fertilizers and herbicides sparingly as they wash into creeks.
9.  Don't push snow into creeks--it carries road contaminants.
10.  Enjoy your waterways!
