VolunteerGeneral Volunteer Opportunities with Alaska Center for the Environment Volunteering with ACE is a great way to take action, learn more about a conservation issue that interests you, and to have fun. Volunteer activities at ACE range from a couple hours worth of work, to more time-intensive projects.
Volunteer PossibilitiesVolunteer CoordinatorMany ACE members express interest in volunteering their time to help with campaigns, but it is often difficult to plug them in to a program staff member's daily routine. ACE seeks a motivated and committed volunteer to help organize the interest and talent with the goal of spearheading a volunteer-run campaign. See below for possible projects. Conservation ResearchAre you concerned about an environmental issue and willing to put some time into making a difference on that issue? ACE is up against some formidable opponents on many issues and member involvement is often the key to stopping harmful projects and moving positive solutions forward. Research Projects:
Hands-On: Get Your Hands Dirty
There is nothing more rewarding than digging in, getting your hands dirty and spending the afternoon making a difference in your community. ACE offers a number of clean-up and recycling projects that allow you to have a positive impact in just a few short hours. Hands-on projects typically take place between May-September. Past projects include trail repair projects, invasive weed-pulls, liter pick-ups in parks and waterways, beach clean-ups and recycling at events. Events
One way Alaska Center for the Environment makes a difference is by getting out in the community and bringing people together through celebration.
