Wildlife
Alaska's wildlife is one our most amazing resources. Learn about current issues facing Alaska's wildlife.
Alaska's Wildlife
Brown bear, black bear, wolf, moose, caribou, wolverine, lynx, Dall sheep. Most Alaskans can boast about having seen at least a few of this list in the wild. We are truly fortunate to live in a place where this is possible, and actually quite probable if you are so inclined to go looking.
But, while there are many opportunities to view wildlife in our state, there are many areas where the diversity of species has noticeably declined over the past couple of decades. Unfortunately, increasing human pressures and Alaska's wildlife management policies that are driven by special interests rather than biology or ecosystem management are threatening our valued resource.
You can help protect our wildlife resources by learning how to live with bears and moose as our neighbors, speaking up for more balance in Alaska' s wildlife management policies, and commenting on proposals that the Board of Game is considering. Click on the links below to find out more.
