Front Yard Farming Two FREE master gardener clinics are coming up. You will have the opportunity to learn about mapping your yard, building raised beds, soil testing, seed starting, and more so you can start growing your own food. This is as local as it gets!

FREE: Front Yard Farming For Novice Gardeners

 
Turn your front lawn into a productive micro farm that will provide you and your family with fun to do activities, and the freshest vegetables you have ever tasted.  Gardeners Leslie Crawford, Diana DeFazio, Noel Nelson and Joette Storm will discuss mapping your yard, building raised beds, soil testing, starting seeds, composting and watering.  4H Director Marianne Kerr will have tips on gardening with children.

If you are interested in starting a garden or helping someone else start one, please call Kimbrough at 646-4227, our AmeriCorps volunteer, who will use her "extra service hours" to team up with AK's Master Gardeners' efforts to promote gardening.
